1 dead, 2 others injured in two-car accident near Byron in Contra Costa County
A yet-to-be-identified driver has died and two others hurt following a head-on collision that happened on Thursday morning, November 25, 2021. The two-car crash that claimed the life of one of the motorists happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Vasco Road and Walnut Boulevard near Byron in east Contra Costa County, California.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the head-on collision happened when a Toyota sedan and a truck crashed into each other after one of the vehicles crossed the centreline into the other car’s traveling lane. Following the head-on crash, the sedan driver sustained serious blunt force trauma and injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while a passenger and the truck driver were transported with injuries to John Muir trauma center in Walnut Creek.
No other detail was made known. The crash remains under investigation.
